One of five former Memphis, Tennessee, police officers accused of fatally beating 29-year-old Tyre Nichols during a traffic stop this month was accused in 2016 of participating in a prison assault that left an inmate unconscious, according to a federal civil rights complaint. The officers accused him of flushing “contraband” after they saw smoke in the area where he was, according to the suit. Sledge accused Haley and another officer of punching him in the face, according to the suit. The Shelby County Division of Corrections did not respond to a request for comment Tuesday night. A Pennsylvania woman was accused of shooting her parents in their heads and dismembering their bodies with a chain saw, authorities said Wednesday. A 16-year-old mother and her infant son appeared to be fleeing what authorities described as a "massacre" at their California home when they were shot in their heads, officials said Tuesday. Actor and comedian Andy Dick was accused Friday of public intoxication and failing to register as a sex offender, authorities said. Jail records show he was booked just before 1 a.m. and released roughly two hours later. A Massachusetts man accused of misleading authorities during an investigation into his wife's disappearance was alleged to have threatened to kill her and her friends eight years ago, according to a police report obtained Thursday. Four people were rescued after a Tesla plunged over a cliff in Calif., on Monday. Eight people, including five minors, were found dead at a home in southwestern Utah with what authorities described Wednesday as apparent gunshot wounds.
